Welcome to Angelclaud ArtRoom’s monthly challenge! Every month I will post a new template challenge focusing on certain aspects or techniques of digital scrapbooking in hope that we can learn and explore new scrapbooking and designing skills together.
For this month let’s start with my favorite style of scrapbooking, which is clustering. Clustering is basically when you put several elements together into one or several clusters. Clustering can add interest to the layout and draw our eyes’ attention. With good shadowing it can creates a sense of depth. I am sure that you all must have seen some layouts that you felt the elements really popped out and felt touchable.
This is a great example of how simple and more complicated clustering can help embellish a page. This is a layout one of my CT, Mary H. She used several smaller clusters that consist of two flowers and leaves across the layout and one larger cluster on the top left of the layout. The clusters help guide the viewer’s eye to start from the larger cluster on the left and then following the smaller clusters, we move down from the photos to the wordarts and then finishing at the top right cluster.
Here is the challenge template for this month to help you get started on clustering. Just click on the image preview to download.
The challenge template will only be available for more or less 1 month. When the new challenge template is up, the previous month’s template link will be taken down.
Post your layout on the gallery under the Challenges Gallery. Every month I will choose 1 (one) random winner with random.org from the all the participants to win $5 coupon to my store at Scrapbook Graphics. Depending on the number of participants, I might choose more. All layouts must be posted before 00:00 of the last day of the month to be included in the drawing.
My fabulous Creative Team has also played along with the challenge and created some super duper awesome layouts.
